membership terms and conditions

upfront memberships + 10 pass card

membership fee is paid upfront and is valid for the term of the paid amount.

suspensions may be placed at owner digression. 2 weeks notice is required prior to suspension request and all suspensions must be emailed to anita@universalbalance.com.au - Suspensions are usually granted if an injury has taken place, in this case a medical certificate may be required, they may also be granted for extended travel. A minimum 2 weeks can be suspended at a time. Once the suspension period has ended, the membership auto resumes and the payments will start automatically. No verbal or facebook messages will be accepted as form of notification in regards to suspensions.

cancellations are non refundable but may be transferred to another person at the original contract holders expense. Universal Balance is not responsible for obtaining balance from the new contract holder. 

no abusive or threatening  behaviour will be tolerated and the use of drugs or alcohol not permitted in studio. In the instance of these things taken place the owners hold the right to remove the member and cancel membership with no refund issued. 

classes and timetable including instructors are subject to change without notice and membership will not be refunded due to change of teacher.

direct debit memberships

membership is a lock in 3 or 12 month contract. After the contract length has been completed, the membership will continue on a month by month basis until written documentation via email has been provided to end the membership. This documentation needs to be provided to anita@universalbalance.com.au and an end date needs to be provided at least 14 days in the future. Membership will not be refunded or cancelled without penalty due to change of timetable or instructor. 

Early termination of membership will incur an early termination fee. The fee is a once off payment of $180 for 3 months or $260 for 12 months. The membership can be transferred to another person but is the sole responsibility of the client (you) to find the person to take over the membership and the membership will remain the responsibility of the original member until the new client has signed the waiver provided by Universal Balance. 

Suspensions are only available at the digression of the owners and as a minimum 2 week time period. A suspension may be applied for injury or travel and all suspension requests must be sent to anita@universalbalance.com.au with a start and end date and a reason for suspension. All requests for travel need to be applied for at least 14 days in advance and a doctors certificate for injury may be requested if suspension is due to an injury. Once the suspension period has ended, the membership auto resumes and the payments will start automatically. No verbal or facebook messages will be accepted as form of notification in regards to suspensions.

All failed payments incur a fee to the client that is charged by Ezi debit. Failed payments will be auto re debited 2 days later and if the funds are not available another fee will be incurred. Universal balance have no responsibility for refunding this fee or any fees incurred by Ezi debit (read more about this below). Universal Balance has all rights to pass on all information required to a debit collector agent to recover any unpaid fees. 

If you behave in a manner that is unacceptable to us or to other users of the studio we reserve the right to refuse entry to you and to cancel your membership. Unacceptable behaviour may include but is not limited to disruptive or threatening behaviour, causing damage to studio premises or equipment, abuse of staff or members or use of illegal drugs. A warning will normally be given but in the case of serious misconduct your membership may be cancelled without notice and you must immediately leave the Studio.

We may also cancel your membership by giving you notice if you fail to pay any fees within 30 days of the due date, in this instance you will be charged the above cancellation fee to your nominated account. In any of these circumstances you will remain liable to pay all outstanding fees due for the period up to and including the termination date.

Also, we may recover from you or retain from any advance payment a reasonable amount to cover the costs that we incur as a result of your actions. The balance of any advance will then be refunded on request Termination of membership will bring the membership contract to an end but this will not affect the accrued rights of either the studio or yourself at the termination date.
