our story
In 2015, after tragically losing my dad and stepmum in a car accident, I found myself needing support—real support—from people outside of my family, who were grieving just as deeply. What I realised during that time was how rare it had become to find genuine connection. People seemed too busy to check in, too overwhelmed to hold space for others, and often too disconnected to even pause and connect with themselves.
It hit me that so many of us were caught in the tornado of everyday life—ticking boxes, rushing around, but not truly living. Not enjoying the moment. Not connecting with our purpose, our people, or even ourselves.
That’s when the idea for Universal Balance was born.
I wanted to create a space where people could truly belong. A place where you’re greeted by name, where you can stay for a cuppa and a chat after class, and where it’s safe to be yourself—no pressure, no judgement, just real people connecting in real ways. A space where we move our bodies, protect our peace, and rediscover our purpose. The kind of community our ancestors once had, where connection came naturally.
So after years of aimless gym routines—walking on treadmills, punching the air, lifting weights with no meaning—I knew it was time to do something different. I wanted to build a place that made a difference.
At Universal Balance, you’ll find a warm, welcoming studio that blends functional movement, self-defence, strength, yoga, and meditation—all grounded in community. Every class is designed to help you grow, not just physically, but emotionally and socially too.
Our instructors are hand-picked not just for their skills, but for their heart. Each one brings passion, experience, and a genuine desire to help others feel strong, safe, and supported.
